Tanja Heitmann ist Literaturagentin und Autorin. Schon als Kind waren Bücher ihre große Leidenschaft, später stand sie selbst mit ihrem Debüt „Morgenrot“ monatelang auf den Bestsellerlisten. Seitdem veröffentlichte sie erfolgreich zahlreiche Romane, viele davon in der Phantastik. Die Autorin lebt mit ihrer Familie in Norddeutschland, wo sie ein altes Reetdachhaus mit Monsterspinnen und streunenden Katzen teilt.
