Eigentlich wollte Valerie die etwas altmodische Buchhandlung ihrer spurlos verschwundenen Tante auflösen. Doch die junge Betriebswirtin hat die Macht der Bücher und die Magie der kleinen Buchhandlung mit dem Samowar unterschätzt. Jeden Tag entdeckt sie neue Schätze der Literatur und taucht immer tiefer in die zauberhafte Welt der Bücher ein. Als sie auf ein merkwürdiges Buch stößt, das nicht zu Ende geschrieben wurde, hält sie es für einen Fehldruck. Doch dann betritt ein Kunde ihre Buchhandlung, der genau dieses Buch schon lange sucht …

Valerie's aunt disappeared without a trace. What Valerie actually wanted to do was liquidate her aunt's somewhat old-fashioned bookstore. But the young business administrator underestimated the power of books and the magic of the small bookstore with the samovar. Every day she discovers new treasures of literature and dives deeper and deeper into the magical world of books. When she comes across a strange book that hasn't been finished, she thinks it's a misprint. But then a customer enters her bookstore who has been looking for exactly this book for a long time ...

Thomas Montasser arbeitete als Journalist und Universitätsdozent und war Leiter einer kleinen Theatertruppe. Mit den Romanen „Ein ganz besonderes Jahr“ und „Monsieur Jean und sein Gespür für Glück“ wurde er über Nacht international bekannt. Als Vater von drei Kindern lebt er mit seiner Familie in München, wo er mit seiner Frau eine kleine, aber feine Literaturagentur betreibt. Er liebt Swing, alte Bücher und Frühstück im Freien. Es gibt für ihn nichts Erholsameres, als ein gutes Buch zu lesen (außer natürlich: eines zu schreiben).

Thomas Montasser worked as a journalist and university lecturer and was the director of a small theater company. With the novels "A Very Special Year" and "Monsieur Jean and His Sense of Happiness" he became internationally known overnight. A father of three, he lives with his family in Munich, where he runs a small but fine literary agency with his wife. He loves swing music, old books and breakfast outdoors. For him, there is nothing more relaxing than reading a good book (except, of course, writing one).
