Walter Rauscher, born in Vienna is a historian who writes mainly about recent European history. His research on Austria and abroad focuses on the period between the First and Second World Wars. He is active at various academic institutions, and has numerous publications in several languages, including works on the history of the Danube Monarchy and Central Europe in addition to biographies on Renner, Hindenburg, Hitler and Mussolini.
