Cainstorm Island – Der Gejagte
A breathless flight across a megacity, while millions watch
"My viewers love danger, at least when it’s happening to me and they get to watch it through my eyes." Emilio's world is a divided one. On one side, there is rich Asaria. On the other, Cainstorm Island: overpopulated, poor and consumed by violence. On that island, surrounded by brutal gangs, the 17-year-old fights to payback his family's debts. One day, an Eyevision employee approaches Emilio with a deal. Emilio agrees to have a chip implanted in his head. The chip is connected to his optic nerve and transmits whatever Emilio sees for half an hour each day. His videos of daredevil climbing and trainsurfing catch on, and his viewership slowly increases. Or it does until his life takes an unforeseen turn - Emilio enters into a gang’s territory and kills one of its leaders in self-defense. It is caught live and broadcast. The video spreads rapidly and Emilio becomes a hunted boy, not only by the gang, but also by Eyevision, who have their own plans for Emilio.
